Sea anglers have the chance to take advantage of the bountiful fishing grounds that lie relatively close to the shore, so time is spent fishing and not travelling.
In addition, over 100 wrecks around our shores, acting as artificial reef, provide shelter for species such as Pollack, Ling, Conger, Cod, Huss and Coalfish. As well as these, common species found include Bass, Whiting, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Codling and Mackerel. Most of the shipwrecks fall comfortably within the range of the charter vessels which operate from the various parts of Anglesey.
Big tides are always a problem to fish comfortably, where neaps on the other hand are slower. Slack water periods, therefore, offer greater flexibility to the discerning angler. For visiting anglers who trail their own craft, inshore fishing is the better option. Nevertheless, most common specimens can be landed in good numbers including whiting, dabs, dogfish, gurnard, codling, mackerel, pollack and coalfish.
